Washington DC

The United States Capitol Building

Election Day

Today is Election Day in the United States so I thought I would post a photograph of the United States Capitol Building in Washington, DC.

Jefferson Monument

Thomas Jefferson, one of our founding fathers, principal author of the Declaration of Independence, member of Congress, Secretary of State and the third President of the United States (1801–1809). Wow, what a resume!

Supreme Columns

One of the most important parts of the US Government is the US Supreme Court. I had a chance to tour the building and view the Supreme Columns up close.

Arlington Cemetery - Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

One of the most moving areas within the Arlington National Cemetery in the Washington DC area is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Arlington Cemetery - Door

As I walked around Arlington National Cemetery I ran across a whitewashed building and noticed a white door and black lamp.
