Hemingway Sunset

When I arrived at the Joshua Tree National Park for my night photography workshop I was eager to photograph some colorful sunsets and sunrises. Our first evening was in the area called the Hemingway Buttress. It’s an area located near the Hidden Valley section of the park. Hemingway Buttress is a rock climbing area and it is one of the most beautiful sections of the park. This Hemingway Sunset photograph was special because it showcased many of the flowers that were blooming in the park due to the winter rains in the area. The only thing I could have wished for were some clouds but I’m pleased with this photo nonetheless.

This image was taken with my Canon EOS 5DS using my Canon EF 16-35mm f/4 Lens set on 20mm. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f/11, shutter speed at 1/60th of a second and the ISO set at 400. I used a tripod for stability. This is a single image processed in Lightroom and completed in Photoshop using Nik Color Efex Pro.
