The Big Bend area has many more sunrise photography locations than it does sunset locations. When I visit the region, my go-to location for sunsets is the Big Hill and the La Cuesta river access areas, both located in the Big Bend Ranch State Park. This is where I captured the sunset over the Rio Grande. I was lucky enough to find this flowering Yucca to use as a foreground, although, the flower was nearing its end. The sunsets from the top of the hill are spectacular. The area is very accessible from Highway 170. I highly recommend visiting this location when visiting the Big Bend area.
This image was taken with my Sony A7R IV using my Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 Lens set on 16mm. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f/14, shutter speed at 1/40th of a second, and ISO set at 100. I used a tripod for stability. I processed the image in Lightroom and completed it in Photoshop using Nik Color Efex Pro.
