The Fulton Mansion is another popular attraction in the town of Fulton, Texas. The mansion is located near the Fulton Harbor which houses the fishing boats I posted yesterday. Many photographers have photographed this mansion. My hope was that the skies would cooperate and that we would have the typical sunsets popular in this part of the state. It was not to be.
The mansion dates back to the late 1800’s when east coast entrepreneur and successful rancher and meatpacker, George W. Fulton, built the mansion to symbolize the family’s success. He called the mansion Oakhurst and it took about three years to build. The family’s empire was created by shipping cattle tallow and hides between Rockport and New Orleans.
This image was taken with my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV using my Canon EF 16-35mm f/4 Lens set on 16 mm. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f/14, shutter speed at 30 seconds and the ISO set at 100. I used a tripod for stability and my polarizer filter to extend the exposure and enhance the clouds. This is a single photograph processed using Lightroom and completed in Photoshop using Nik Color Efex Pro.
