View of Castellon Mountain

This view of Castellon Mountain is from the Dorgan house in Big Bend National Park. The old home can be accessed by hiking the Dorgan-Sublett trail near Santa Elena Canyon in the southwestern part of the park. As I photographed this area I tried to imagine the original inhabitants trying to decide where to build their home and settling on this plateau. The views from this area are amazing. Stay tuned for more photos from this vantage point. I highly recommend this trail if you happen to visit the area.

This image was taken with my Canon EOS 5DS using my Canon EF 16-35mm f/4 Lens set on 25 mm. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f14, shutter speed at 1/40th of a second and the ISO set at 100. I used a tripod for this photograph. This is a single image processed in Lightroom and completed in Photoshop using Nik Color Efex Pro.
