Hidden Valley

Another night photography image from the Hidden Valley area of the Joshua Tree National Park. It was taken as part of that evening’s assignment for the night photography workshop that I attended earlier this month. It was an interesting evening for night photography as we had some clouds in the area but I think they worked in my favor. The only light painting I did was on the three plants in the foreground. I placed my iPhone in the middle of the plants to give them a bit of back lighting. The rest is natural lighting from the moon.

This image was taken with my Canon EOS 5DS using my Canon EF 16-35mm f/4 Lens set on 16mm. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f/4, shutter speed at 20 seconds and the ISO set at 5000. I used a tripod for stability. This is a single image processed in Lightroom and completed in Photoshop using Nik Color Efex Pro.
