Old Pier

I photographed this Old Pier at sunrise along Fulton Beach Road during my recent trip to Rockport ,Texas. I posted another photograph of a pier that I took the day before when there was a Dense Fog Advisory. The weather on this morning was completely different, the wind was much higher and the cloud cover was virtually nonexistent. So, I chose to focus on the rocks in the foreground, the old pier and the water. As was the case with yesterday’s photo, I decided to use my Syrp Variable Neutral Density Filter to flatten out the surf and to improve the sun’s reflection on the water.

This image was taken with my Canon EOS 5DS using my Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II Lens set on 24mm. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f/11, shutter speed at ten seconds and the ISO set at 100. I used a tripod for stability and my Syrp Variable Neutral Density filter for a longer exposure. This is a single image processed in Lightroom and completed in Photoshop using Nik Color Efex Pro.
