Trans-pecos Senna (Senna pilosior)

Description: The Trans-Pecos Senna grows only in Big Bend National Park. The plant thrives in a desert habitat, and prefers gravelly soil. The low-growing perennial (less than one-foot tall) produces vibrant yellow flowers with 5 petals, brown veins, and light brown stamens. The stems are covered with fine hairs.
