Moon over Chisos

First of all, Happy New Year! May 2018 bring health, happiness and prosperity to you all. One of my memorable moments of my recent trip to the Big Bend area was this photograph. It was not part of the plan for the evening as we sat out to do some night photography at the Dorgan house in Big Bend National Park. As we were finishing up our task we noticed a giant, full moon, rising over the Chisos mountains.  This huge moon over the Chisos was not only bright but it lit the low-hanging clouds. It is one of my favorite photos of the trip and I use it as my lock screen wallpaper for my iPhone.

This image was taken with my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV using my IRIX 15mm f/2.4 Blackstone Lens. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f/14, shutter speed at 30 seconds and the ISO set at 3200. I used a tripod for stability. This is a single image processed in Lightroom and completed in Photoshop using Nik Color Efex Pro.
