I photographed this lone Joshua Tree during my last evening in the Joshua Tree National Park last week. I headed out to the Hall of Horrors area in the park. I knew the sunset was going to be spectacular so I kept looking for subjects to photograph when I ran across a series of Joshua Trees. I wanted to silhouette one against the sunset colors so I chose this tree because of its isolation.
This image was taken with my Canon EOS 5DS using my Canon EF 16-35mm f/4 Lens set on 26mm. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f/8, shutter speed at 1/180th of a second and the ISO set at 400. I used a tripod for stability. This is a single image processed in Lightroom.
