Palette Springs is located within the Mammoth Hot Springs area at the northern end of Yellowstone National Park. It was during a recent visit that I had the opportunity to tour the area and photograph some of its features. The springs around Mammoth are some of the most amazing features in the park. The toxic nature of the springs makes it impossible for vegetation to grow. This dead tree is evidence of the impact the falls have on vegetation. I highly recommend visiting Palette Springs when visiting Yellowstone NP.
This image was taken with my Sony A7R IV using my Sony FE 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 Lens set on 169mm. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f/7.1, shutter speed at 1/200th of a second, and the ISO set at 1600. I hand-held the camera for this photo. This is a single image processed in Lightroom and completed in Photoshop using Nik Color Efex Pro.
