Old Faithful Coyote

Yellowstone National Park is a magical place for many reasons but one of my favorite parts is how much we get to interact with wildlife in the area. Safely, of course. It was in 2018 when I was in the park when this coyote walked by like it owned the place. He proceeded up one of the mounds near the Old Faithful geyser when he stopped to look around. The lighting was just right so I took the photo. I nicknamed it the “Old Faithful Coyote”. He seemed right at home.

This image was taken with my Canon EOS 7D Mark II using my Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 II Lens set on 400mm. The camera was set on Aperture Priority mode with the aperture set at f/8, shutter speed at 1/2000th of a second, and the ISO set at 800. I hand-held the camera for this image. This is a single image processed in Lightroom and completed in Photoshop using Nik Color Efex Pro.
