The iSimangaliso Wetland National Park<\/a> was high on my list of places to visit during my trip to South Africa. The park is located in the northeast and is one of the best places to experience wonderful\u00a0beaches and a wide variety of\u00a0wildlife. I posted a photograph of a Vervet Monkey<\/a> a few weeks ago that was taken at the Park. I visited one of the beaches shortly after entering the Park and I had the opportunity to use my Lee Neutral Density Filters<\/a>. I struggled to find an interesting foreground but I did find some\u00a0mounds of compacted sand, coral and sea shells. The mounds were quite hard and were interesting when viewed up close.<\/p>\n

The iSimangaliso Wetland Park was listed as South Africa\u2019s first World Heritage Site in December 1999 in recognition of its natural beauty. The name iSimangaliso means miracle and wonder, which aptly describes this unique place.\u00a0The 800,000 acre\u00a0Park contains three major lake systems, eight interlinking ecosystems, 700 year old fishing traditions, most of South Africa\u2019s remaining swamp forests, Africa\u2019s largest estuarine system, 526 bird species and 25 000 year-old vegetated coastal dunes.<\/p>\n

This image was taken with my\u00a0Canon EOS 5DS<\/a>\u00a0using my\u00a0Canon EF 16-35mm f\/4 Lens<\/a>\u00a0set on 21 mm. The camera was set on Manual\u00a0mode with the aperture set at f\/22, shutter speed at 3.2 seconds and the ISO set at 100. I also used my .9 and .6 Lee neutral density filters along with a circular polarizer. This was a single image processed in Lightroom and Nik Color Efex Pro.<\/p>\n
