{"id":7071,"date":"2016-03-20T04:00:56","date_gmt":"2016-03-20T09:00:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tkahler.com\/blog\/?p=7071"},"modified":"2020-12-22T13:59:54","modified_gmt":"2020-12-22T19:59:54","slug":"rocky-sunrise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tkahler.com\/blog\/2016\/03\/rocky-sunrise\/","title":{"rendered":"Rocky Sunrise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I traveled to Florida in the spring of 2015 to attend a wedding with family and friends. \u00a0I took advantage of\u00a0the trip to venture out and take some photographs. \u00a0I was specifically looking for some rocky beaches to take some long exposure ocean shots. \u00a0There are not that many rocky beaches in Florida! \u00a0I did manage to find a place near\u00a0Port St Lucie called Stuart Rocks. \u00a0It\u2019s a very popular place for surfers and there were definitely rocks there. \u00a0To me, they appeared to be volcanic rocks and\u00a0I was very amazed with how porous they were. This photograph does not contain many rocks. Areas just left of this image had much larger rock formations.<\/p>\n<p>Stuart beach is located near the city of Stuart. The city is known as the &#8220;Sailfish Capital of the World&#8221; and is located along Florida&#8217;s renowned &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Treasure_Coast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Treasure Coast<\/a>&#8220;, north of Palm Beach and south of Vero Beach. The name was coined by two journalists from the Vero Beach Press Journal newspaper shortly after salvagers began recovering Spanish treasure off the coast in 1961. The treasure was traced back to the Spanish Treasure Fleet lost in a 1715 hurricane. The camera was set on <a href=\"http:\/\/tkahler.com\/blog\/glossary\/aperture-priority\/\">Aperture priority<\/a> mode with the aperture set at f\/20, shutter speed at 1\/25th of a second and the ISO set at 100.
