I posted an image of Patrick the Bass Player<\/a> a couple of days ago. The image below of Kevin, the Harmonica player, is the second image from that same photo shoot. I have always wanted to play the Harmonica but I never learned\u00a0it well enough to play decently. So I always admire Harmonica players that can channel their feelings and energy into this very small device. Some day I may\u00a0try it again.<\/p>\n

The Harmonica, also known as a French Harp or Mouth Organ is a free reed wind instrument. \u00a0It is used by many blues, folks, classical, jazz, country and rock musicians. There are actually many types of harmonica, each with a very specific purpose. The instrument is played by using the lips and tongue to direct air into and out of one or more holes along the mouthpiece. There are chambers behind the holes containing at least one reed. These reeds are pre-tuned to individual pitches. Longer, heavier and springier reeds produce deeper, lower sounds. Shorter, lighter and stiffer reeds make higher-pitched sounds. Harmonica players often use very old “cage” style microphones when they play concerts. This was Kevin’s preference.<\/p>\n

This image was taken with my\u00a0Sony Alpha A7R II<\/a>\u00a0using my\u00a0Sony FE 24-70mm f\/4 Lens<\/a>\u00a0set on 24 mm. The camera was set on Shutter priority mode with the aperture set at f\/4, shutter speed at 1\/200 and the ISO set at 2000. This was a single image processed in Lightroom and Nik Silver Efex Pro.<\/p>\n
