I am always\u00a0trying to find new vantage points to photograph the Austin Skyline. I was out the other evening doing some experiments to see if I could get more stars in my\u00a0night skyline photographs. \u00a0I was mildly successful but not pleased with the results. There is just way too much light to try to bring out the stars. Exposures lasting 30 seconds were awash with brightness. So, I decided to head over the Lamar Pedestrian Bridge to photograph the night skyline. I’ve had this vantage point on my list for quite some time and I was lucky that the air was crisp and the winds were calm.<\/p>\n

One of the reasons I wanted to photograph this area was because of the railroad bridge that you see in the background. This bridge is always filled with graffiti and in particular a graffiti line on the left side of the bridge that says “I’ve Got NINJA STYLE and a KUNG FU GRIP”. The line is hard to read because it’s been defaced. The bridge\u00a0also has some of the characters from the PacMan video game.\u00a0Once I photographed it I set out to figure out what this was all about. Apparently (apparently), nobody knows where this came from or what it means. So, if any of you know what this means\u00a0please drop me a message or comment below.<\/p>\n

This image was taken with my Sony A7R II<\/a> using my Rokinon 14mm f\/2.8 Lens. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f\/2.8, shutter speed at 1.3 seconds and the ISO set at 100. This is a manual lens so I had to set the aperture and focus manually.<\/p>\n
