This is a photograph that I took during a trip to Venice<\/a> in the Spring of 2012. I captured this image during a walk around the city while crossing one of the thousands of bridges that exist there. What caught my eye was the bright color of the gondola contrasted against the stark exterior of the buildings reflecting in the water. There were so many great places to visit. The food was amazing! I really enjoyed my trip to Venice and plan on visiting again.<\/p>\n

Most people are familiar with Venice and it’s certainly one of the most visited cities in Europe. Located in northeastern Italy, Venice is one of the most accessible cities in Europe. It is part of a group of 118 small islands separated by canals and linked with bridges. It is renowned for its beauty, architecture and its artwork. Venice was actually a republic and has been known by many names. The name Venice comes for the ancient Veneti people who inhabited the region in the 10th century. The Republic of Venice<\/a> was a major maritime power during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. It was a staging area for\u00a0the Crusades. It also served a role as a very important center of commerce (silk, grain, spices and art). It became part of the Italian Empire in 1866.<\/p>\n

This image was taken with my Leica V-LUX 3 using my set on the widest angle. The camera was set on Automatic\u00a0mode with the aperture set at f\/3.2, shutter speed at 1\/15th of a second and the ISO set at 100.<\/p>\n
