I recently posted an image of a Black Crested Titmouse<\/a> but I was able to capture a better image at the Pedernales Falls SP<\/a> bird blind so I thought I would post it as well. What makes this image better than the last one<\/a>? \u00a0Well, there are three things. First, his crest is standing up versus laying flat on his head. Second, you can see more of his body and his coloring. Third, he seems more alert vs. meek. \u00a0And, I just like this one better.<\/p>\n

You may ask what that orange stuff is in the tree hole. Well, good question. One of the best ways to attract birds is Suet. Bird feed is commonly used in the form of cakes of suet, which can be made with other solid fats, such as lard. Rolled oats, bird seed, cornmeal, raisins, and unsalted nuts are often incorporated into the suet cakes. It works. They all flock in as soon as the park ranger refills the Suet containers.<\/p>\n

This image was taken with my Canon EOS 5D Mark III<\/a> using my Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 Sports Lens<\/a> set on 600 mm. The camera was set on Aperture priority<\/a> mode with the aperture set at f\/8, shutter speed at 1\/500 and the ISO set at 320. This image was a single image processed in Lightroom.<\/p>\n
