I posted an image yesterday<\/a> that I took in the Ernst tinaja canyon<\/a>. In that post, I showcased an image of another tinaja. Will the real Ernst tinaja… Well, this is the real Ernst tinaja. \u00a0As you can see, falling in would not be a good thing. I did manage to walk around it\u00a0to get to this point but it was a bit nerve-wracking. This image does a better job of showing the rock formations in this area. The layering show millions of years of deposits laid down in a very orderly way. \u00a0It was quite interesting looking at these formations up close. \u00a0The tinaja itself is in the bedrock. There must have been a waterfall or some huge erosion element happening there. \u00a0They say it’s about 13′ deep. Like kids, we tossed rocks in to see how deep it was but I’m not sure that’s a proven scientific method…<\/p>\n

This image was taken with my Canon EOS 5D Mark III<\/a> using my EF16-35mm f\/2.8L USM set on 16 mm. The camera was set on Aperture priority mode with the aperture set at f\/16, shutter speed at 1\/8 and ISO at 100. I took a total of 5 bracketed images (-2, -1, 0, +1, +2) and processed them in Photomatix. \u00a0Final work was done in Photoshop. Overall I’m happy with the image. The only wish was for a better sky. \u00a0Some clouds would have made this a much better image.<\/p>\n
