Paris is one of my favorite cities in the world. Fantastic food, great history, wonderful sites and amazing\u00a0architecture makes this city a great destination.\u00a0I had the opportunity\u00a0to visit Paris in the spring of 2012 and at the top of my list was a walk down the\u00a0Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es<\/a>\u00a0and a visit to the\u00a0Arc de Triomphe<\/a>. After purchasing a\u00a0ticket,\u00a0one has to go up\u00a0the spiral staircase to reach\u00a0the top of the Arc. As I climbed up I spotted what I thought was a great photo opportunity. The stairs went down and around in a very tight spiral. The problem? Lots of people coming up behind me. So, I snapped a few photos making sure that I had captured enough of the stairway to enable a successful people extraction in post processing. This image is the result of that processing.<\/p>\n

This image was taken with my LEICA V-LUX 3 set on 5 mm. The camera was hand-held and set on Program\u00a0mode with the aperture set at f\/2.8, shutter speed at 1\/4 of a second and the ISO set at 400. \u00a0Post processing was done in Photoshop and Lightroom. \u00a0A square crop was done to improve the composition.<\/p>\n
