{"id":2485,"date":"2015-08-16T04:00:49","date_gmt":"2015-08-16T09:00:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tkahler.com\/blog\/?p=2485"},"modified":"2020-12-22T13:57:54","modified_gmt":"2020-12-22T19:57:54","slug":"cuba-museo-de-la-revolucion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tkahler.com\/blog\/2015\/08\/cuba-museo-de-la-revolucion\/","title":{"rendered":"Cuba &#8211; Museo de la Revoluci\u00f3n"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The old presidential palace in Havana, Cuba, became the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Museum_of_the_Revolution_(Cuba)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Museo de la Revoluci\u00f3n<\/a> (Museum of the Revolution) following the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cuban_Revolution\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cuban Revolution<\/a> of 1959, led by Fidel Castro. The overthrow of the government led to an amazing history which most of us experienced during our lifetime. Given that Cuba is front and center in today\u2019s news, I though it would be a good idea to showcase some of the images I captured during my trip to Cuba in February of 2014. Havana was the last city on the itinerary and I\u2019m glad it was. The first 6 days were filled with countryside tours and visits to local farms and smaller communities. Their way of life was much slower. Havana was a bustling metropolis and filled with places to go and things to see. Of particular interest to me was the museum. Unlike the clean and well organized museums of the US, this museum was not well kept, lacking in artifacts, long in word\/pictures (probably to make up for the lack of artifacts) and very dated. Perhaps a casualty of the embargo. The camera was set on Normal mode with the aperture set at f\/4, shutter speed at 1\/60 at ISO 800. \u00a0I did take 3 bracketed images and processed the in Photologix. \u00a0I did some touchup in Photoshop and finalized the image in Lightroom.<\/p>\n<p>Click on the image to get a better look at this image.
