The area was filled with them as they are one of many dominant species in the area this time of year. This flower is also known by the common name Golden Groundsel, Golden Ragwort, or Squaw Weed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I like photographing flowers along the Grapevine Hills Trail early in the day because it sits in a valley, and, as a result, blocks the early morning sun allowing for diffused light to fall on the desert floor. The camera was set on&nbsp;Manual mode with the aperture set at f\/2.8, shutter speed at 1\/60th of a second, and ISO set at 100. I used a tripod and my focus rail to capture six images which I stitched together using Adobe Photoshop using the focus stacking feature.
