As many Bull Bison do, he was alone looking for food. He was quite the specimen. One of the largest I have ever seen. Shortly after this photo was taken he went down to the Firehole River to continue his search.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Temperatures that morning were about minus 16 degrees Fahrenheit. It was bitter cold and you could tell that he hunkered down in the snow overnight but was still subject to the frost deposited by the geyser fog that blanketed the area overnight. The camera was set on\u00a0Manual mode with the aperture set at f\/8, shutter speed at 1\/500th of a second, and the ISO set at 640. I hand-held the camera for this photo.
