{"id":1784,"date":"2015-07-28T04:00:23","date_gmt":"2015-07-28T09:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tkahler.com\/blog\/?p=1784"},"modified":"2020-12-22T13:53:56","modified_gmt":"2020-12-22T19:53:56","slug":"majestic-view","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tkahler.com\/blog\/2015\/07\/majestic-view\/","title":{"rendered":"Majestic View"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I made a visit to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/grca\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Grand Canyon National Park<\/a> in March of 2013. \u00a0I have visited the park on\u00a0numerous occasions and I&#8217;m always overwhelmed by its\u00a0grandness. \u00a0What a beautiful place!\u00a0\u00a0The canyon walls detail very well what lies below our feet. \u00a0The colored layers showcase the various minerals that make up the geological formations in this area. \u00a0The canyon, carved for centuries by wind and water, is home to the Colorado River. \u00a0The canyon itself is 277 miles long, 18 miles wide in some areas and up to one mile deep.<\/p>\n<p>This image is from the <a href=\"https:\/\/plus.google.com\/101800660852779125060\/about?gl=us&amp;hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yavapai Point<\/a>\u00a0on the south rim. The spot is located a short walk or drive \u00a0from the visitors center. \u00a0The haze was not as bad this time\u00a0so I was able to capture better images than normal. \u00a0The crowds were quite large during the visit and the number of buses and tourists seem to rise exponentially each time I visit.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tkahler.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/20130327-Grand-Canyon-AMb.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"1781\" data-permalink=\"https:\/\/tkahler.com\/blog\/2015\/07\/majestic-view\/grand-canyon-view\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/tkahler.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/20130327-Grand-Canyon-AMb.jpg\" data-orig-size=\"1500,999\" data-comments-opened=\"1\" data-image-meta=\"{&quot;aperture&quot;:&quot;16&quot;,&quot;credit&quot;:&quot;Terry B.
