The main difference between the two is the size of the plant. The bluebonnets in Big Bend National Park grow very tall and are very thin. They also have fewer leaves. This is a byproduct of growing in an arid environment like the Chihuahuan Desert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year the bluebonnets were spectacular. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f\/4, shutter speed at 1\/100th of a second and the ISO set at 160. I used a tripod for stability and my <a href=\"http:\/\/tkahler.com\/blog\/glossary\/kirk-fr-2-focusing-rail\/\">Kirk Focusing Rail<\/a> to obtain 15 images which I brought together into one image using Photoshop and the focus stacking technique.
