I’m sorry for not posting new photographs for a while. A combination of new coaching work and international travel created a lapse in my posting. I was fortunate enough to be part of a group that made a trek to the city of Oaxaca, Mexico for a culinary expedition with one of Austin’s famous Mexican chefs, Chef Iliana De La Vega. She is the owner of El Naranjo<\/a>, a restaurant in downtown Austin. It was during this trip that I photographed the “Tortilla Lady”.<\/p>\n

We visited the home of artists who make decorations using the Flor Inmortal (Immortal Flower) in the town of San Antonino Castillo Velasco. It is located about 30 miles south of the city of Oaxaca. They fed us some great authentic Oaxacan food during our visit.<\/p>\n

Immortal flowers are used in various designs of religious figures and objects. The designs include people, animals and objects.<\/p>\n

This image was taken with my\u00a0Sony A7R II<\/a>\u00a0using my\u00a0Sony FE 24-70 mm Lens<\/a>. The camera was set on Aperture Priority mode with the aperture set at f\/5, shutter speed at 1\/160th of a second and the ISO set at 2,500. I hand-held the camera. The photo was processed in Lightroom.<\/p>\n
