A young Texas Gayfeather photographed at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center last week. As is the case with Texas Gayfeathers, there were many of them growing in a large batch. This one was one of the newest. Texas Gayfeathers can be very showy and I liked the simplicity that this one offered.<\/p>\n

Young Texas Gayfeather<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This image was taken with my\u00a0Canon EOS 6D Mark II<\/a>\u00a0using my\u00a0Canon EF 100mm f\/2.8L Macro Lens<\/a>. The camera was set on Manual\u00a0mode with the aperture set at f\/6.3, shutter speed at 1\/100th of a second and the ISO set at 400. I used a tripod for stability and my\u00a0Kirk Focusing Rail<\/a>\u00a0to obtain 12 images which I brought together into one image using Photoshop and\u00a0the focus stacking technique. I then finalized the image in Photoshop using Nik Color Efex Pro.<\/p>\n
