A Hill Country Penstemon photographed at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center during my trip to the center earlier this month. The winds were calm that morning which allowed me to photograph this image with quite a bit of detail. This plant is a great source of nectar for butterflies and hummingbirds. It only grows in this area during the months of April and May. it’s a beautiful plant!<\/p>\n

Hill Country Penstemon<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This image was taken with my\u00a0Canon EOS 6D Mark II<\/a>\u00a0using my\u00a0Canon EF 100mm f\/2.8L Macro Lens<\/a>. The camera was set on Manual\u00a0mode with the aperture set at f\/4.5, shutter speed at 1\/50th of a second and the ISO set at 100. I used a tripod for stability and my\u00a0Kirk Focusing Rail<\/a>\u00a0to obtain 21 images which I brought together into one image using Photoshop and\u00a0the focus stacking technique. I then finalized the image using Lightroom and Photoshop.<\/p>\n
