It is time for my annual spring trip to Big Bend National Park with my photography friends. We decided to hike up the Grapevine Hills trail to pay a visit to one of my favorite landmarks in the park, Balanced Rock. We photographed the formation with the Milky Way in the background during the early morning hours and then we photographed it at sunrise.<\/p>\n

I decided to do this sunrise Balanced Rock panorama from a different angle this time. I stood further back and balanced my camera gear on the edge of a large rock in order to capture the formation and the sun. As has been the case every time I photograph Balanced Rock, there were no clouds!<\/p>\n

This image was taken with my\u00a0Canon EOS 5DS<\/a>\u00a0using my\u00a0Canon EF 16-35mm f\/4 Lens<\/a>\u00a0set on 16 mm. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f\/11, shutter speed at 1\/250th of a second and the ISO set at 100. I used a tripod for stability. This is a series of six image processed brought together into one image using the panorama feature in Lightroom. I then completed in Photoshop using Nik Color Efex Pro.<\/p>\n
