I photographed these Ballaghisheen Sheep while driving along the Ballaghisheen Pass in County Kerry, Ireland earlier this year. Much of the area is dedicated to raising sheep. County Kerry is among the top five counties in Ireland for sheep farmers. That was evident when we drove around the county. I wanted to photograph a large male but the sheep farmers protect the males (also known as Pucks) and they don’t let them roam freely.<\/p>\n

This image was taken with my\u00a0Sony A7R II<\/a>\u00a0using my\u00a0Sony FE 70-200mm f\/4 Lens<\/a>\u00a0set on 77mm. The camera was set on\u00a0Aperture Priority mode with the aperture set at f\/8, shutter speed at 1\/800th of a second and the ISO set at 1000. I did not use a tripod. This is a single image processed in Lightroom and finalized in Photoshop using Nik Silver Efex Pro.<\/p>\n
