After finishing our visit to Skellig Michael, the boat captain took us around Little Skellig to see the wildlife that inhabits the island. It was hard to photograph the birds from the moving boat but I managed to get a couple of photos of the Northern Gannets despite bouncing up and down in the boat. This photograph is cropped but I was still able to get some good photos of the birds despite the turbulence.<\/p>\n<p>One of the more interesting characteristics of the Gannets (aside from their beautiful colors) is the fact that they dive into the ocean at a high rate of speed to catch their prey. The camera was set on\u00a0Aperture Priority mode with the aperture set at f\/5.6, shutter speed at 1\/3200th of a second and the ISO set at 1000. I hand-held the camera while in a moving boat.
