I had the chance to drive through the Ballaghisheen Pass a couple of times during my trip to Ireland earlier this summer. It was during one of those trips that I found this abandoned farmhouse and I decided to hop the fence to photograph it. The light was hitting the house just right so I could not pass up the opportunity to capture the image. I immediately knew I was going to process it as a black and white image. There are so many abandoned farmhouses in Ireland that I had to be selective about which ones I stopped to photograph. I liked this one because it had trees growing out of it. I especially liked the tree that found its way up the chimney.<\/p>\n

This image was taken with my\u00a0Sony A7R II<\/a>\u00a0using my\u00a0Sony FE 16-35mm f\/4 Lens<\/a>\u00a0set on 20mm. The camera was set on\u00a0Manual mode with the aperture set at f\/11, shutter speed at 1\/10th of a second and the ISO set at 100. I used a tripod for stability. This is a single image processed in Lightroom and finalized in Photoshop using Nik Silver Efex Pro.<\/p>\n
