With my week of golf over I can now turn my attention to exploring and photographing Ireland. For not having played golf in well over a year I consider my golf trip a success. I have a few golf highlights (and many low-lights) but I will always cherish the views from the golf courses I played. I will have special memories of the views from the Waterville Golf Links. Each day that I played there I saw this old Irish home from the 16th tee and I was curious who lived there, what it looked like and what life was like living there. I decided that I would try to make it over to the other side of the inlet to photograph it. I did so on my last day in the area. The home is a one-room structure with a small fireplace, three windows and a door. I would estimate that it was about 12′ x 12′ inside. I can not imagine more than two people living in it.<\/p>\n

The home is located near\u00a0the famous and popular Reenroe Beach and is part of an inlet from the Atlantic Ocean. Every day, we watched the water rush out at low tide then back in during high tide. The current was very swift and I imagined that whoever lived in this home probably ate fish on a daily basis. The views from the house were also spectacular. These kind of structures dot the landscape nearly everywhere you go. I’m sure the locals take them for granted but as a visitor I often think about how life was living in these structures.<\/p>\n

This image was taken with my\u00a0Sony A7R II<\/a>\u00a0using my\u00a0Sony FE 24-70mm f\/4 Lens<\/a>\u00a0set on 48 mm. The camera was set on\u00a0Aperture Priority Mode\u00a0with the aperture set at f\/11, shutter speed at 1\/200th of a second and the ISO set at 400. I used a tripod for stability. This is a single image processed in Lightroom and finalized in Photoshop using Nik Color Efex Pro.<\/p>\n
