The hike was well worth it despite getting soaked. Not only did the rains contribute to the increased water flow but the dark clouds helped diffuse the light that would have been very harsh otherwise.<\/p>\n<p>Conveying scale in waterfall photography is always tricky. This one is a bit easier due to the surrounding rock formations and vegetation. that said, the Taughannock Falls&#8217; main waterfall has\u00a0a 215-foot drop making it 33 feet taller than Niagara Falls. It is also the tallest single-drop waterfall east of the Rocky Mountains. The camera was set on\u00a0Manual Mode\u00a0with the aperture set at f\/14, shutter speed at 1\/4th of a second and the ISO set at 50. I used a tripod for stability.
