The workshop group I was with headed out to different locations each night to photograph the Joshua Tree National Park night sky. One of the locations we photographed was Arch Rock Trail. The trail leads to Arch Rock which is one of the more popular sites in the park. I didn’t have much luck photographing the arch so I headed out to areas behind it. I found this Yucca next to the long outcropping (also called a Dike). The entire scene was lit by the moon which was setting to my right.<\/p>\n

This image was taken with my\u00a0Canon EOS 5DS<\/a>\u00a0using my\u00a0Rokinon 14mm f\/2.8 IF ED UMC<\/a>. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f\/4, shutter speed at 20 seconds and the ISO set at 3200. I used a tripod\u00a0for stability.\u00a0\u00a0This is a single image processed in Lightroom and completed in Photoshop and Nik Color Efex Pro.<\/p>\n
