Mushrooms are most common in this part of the world during the spring. I photographed this mushroom earlier this month when I was photographing flowers at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. I decided to take a walk down one\u00a0of the more remote paths when I ran across this very nice mushroom growing next to a stump. I placed my tripod as low to the ground as possible and captured 18 photographs which I then stitched together using the focus stacking technique. I really liked the way the light was hitting the scene and how clean the mushroom was.<\/p>\n

Website update<\/strong><\/span>: Hello everyone! It’s good to be back on the blogersphere once again. I think I’m finally making progress on my website makeover. Most of the “plumbing” changes have been completed and the\u00a0site\u00a0has finally migrated to the new server platform. I am also making progress on some of the more visual changes including the speed of the site. I decided to create a test blog post to make sure that the email distribution is working. Mushroom<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This image was taken with my\u00a0Canon EOS 5D Mark III<\/a>\u00a0using my\u00a0Canon EF 100mm f\/2.8L Macro Lens<\/a>. The camera was set on Manual\u00a0mode with the aperture set at f\/8, shutter speed at 1\/125th of a second and the ISO set at 100. \u00a0I used a tripod for stability. This is a series of 18 images brought together in Photoshop using the focus stacking technique and then finalized in Photoshop using Nik Color Efex Pro.<\/p>\n
