Sometimes nature does not place\u00a0all of its beauty and creatures where they are easily found. This was the case last summer when I decided to photograph a daisy in my studio Lightbox. As I was setting up the daisy I found this nice spider on the back of the flower. Although this photograph of the spider and daisy has little artistic value it is interesting to see how some creatures make their home and search for their food. The spider was very cooperative and I returned it to its natural habitat so it can rebuild its nest and prosper.<\/p>\n

This image was taken with my\u00a0Canon EOS 5D Mark III<\/a>\u00a0using my\u00a0Canon MP-E 65mm f\/2.8 1-5x Macro Lens<\/a>. The camera was set on\u00a0Manual\u00a0mode with the aperture set at f\/8, shutter speed at 1\/8th of a second and the ISO set at 800. I photographed this subject in my studio Lightbox using three LED lights. I captured a total of 42 images using my Kirk Focus Rail. I brought the images together in Photoshop using the focus stacking technique. I finished the image using Nik Color Efex Pro. I didn’t take notes but I estimate that this is somewhere between 2X and 3X magnification.<\/p>\n
