This Great Egret shadow was cast by the rising sun on our second day photographing birds in the park. One of the advantages of photographing birds in the early hours is the soft light cast by the rising sun. Birds tend to move about early in the day to forage for food. This Great Egret was coming in for a landing in the rookery where our boat was anchored. I posted a similar photograph last March. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f\/8, shutter speed at 1\/2000th of a second and the ISO set at 400.
