I mentioned yesterday that the remaining 2016 blog posts are dedicated to the 2016 Year in Review<\/a>. I debated on what method to use and I decided that I would go in chronological order. So, the photograph of Hamilton Pool was the first photograph in 2016 that was memorable to me.<\/p>\n

Hamilton Pool is located just south and west of Austin and it is a very popular place. So popular that the county is now restricting access to the park and you must have a reservation to enter. That was not the case when I visited the park last January. In fact, there were very few people present. That allowed me to photograph the location without having to deal with the crowds. This photo might well be in my top five favorite photos for 2016. I am ready to go back if anyone is interested in going with me.<\/p>\n

Hamilton Pool<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This image was taken with my\u00a0Canon EOS 5DS<\/a>\u00a0using my\u00a0Canon EF 16-35mm f\/4 Lens<\/a>\u00a0set on 16 mm. I should have taken a wider lens. The grotto is not that large and a wider angle lens would have captured the entire cave. The camera was set on\u00a0Aperture priority<\/a>\u00a0mode with the aperture set at f\/10, shutter speed at 1\/200th of a second and the ISO set at 100. I took a total of five bracketed images (-2, -1, 0, +1, +2) and brought them together using PhotoMatix Pro. Final processing was done in Photoshop.<\/p>\n
