The Glen Springs area within the Big Bend National Park is a common location\u00a0for our photography group to photograph the sunrise during our\u00a0trips to the park. On this day, it was an ideal place to photograph as we\u00a0could photograph the setting moon simultaneously with\u00a0the sunrise. Our group\u00a0setup a few feet off of Park Route 12 near the Panther Junction Ranger Station where we spotted the grasses seen\u00a0in the foreground. I’ve read that these type of grasses dominated the landscape in the park.\u00a0This was one of the first photographs I took upon arriving at the location. A\u00a0long exposure was required as it was still fairly dark. I was lucky that the winds were low so the grasses and plants were quite still. As usual, the clouds were non-existent. The lighting was quite nice nonetheless.<\/p>\n

This image was taken with my\u00a0Canon EOS 5DS<\/a>\u00a0using my\u00a0Canon EF 24-70mm f\/2.8L II USM Lens<\/a>\u00a0set on 35mm. The camera was set on Manual\u00a0mode with the aperture set at f\/20, shutter speed at 6 seconds and the ISO set at 400. I used a tripod for stability. I captured five\u00a0images and stitched together the panorama in Lightroom. I then finalized the image in\u00a0Photoshop using Nik Color Efex Pro.<\/p>\n
