The aspen leaves turn a bright yellow-orange, the grasses change from green to golden and the Cottonwood trees match the scene with their yellow leaves. The landscape is awash with yellow hues. It is a bit different than the northeast in that there is very little red in the fall color palate. I captured this photograph off of Highway 89 (aka John D Rockefeller Junior Parkway) near Jackson Lake in the Grand Teton National Park. The colors along the road were the best in the area. I chose this tree because the backlit leaves intensified the colors. The starburst was a bonus.<\/p>\n
John D Rockefeller Junior Parkway is located in the heart of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and connects the Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. Rockefeller, Jr. made significant contributions to many national parks including Grand Teton NP. In 1972 Congress dedicated a 24,000-acre parcel of land as John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Memorial Parkway and named the highway in his honor.<\/p>\n
<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"10122\" data-permalink=\"https:\/\/tkahler.com\/blog\/2016\/10\/fall-in-the-tetons\/fall-in-the-tetons-2\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/tkahler.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/20160919-grand-teton-np-fall-colors-af1-hdr-edit.jpg\" data-orig-size=\"1000,1500\" data-comments-opened=\"1\" data-image-meta=\"{"aperture":"22","credit":"Terry B.
