This photo of the Lewis River was taken downstream of the falls. I looked to my right as I was crossing the bridge to photograph the falls when I noticed that the sun was lighting up the yellow grass and the green pine trees. The clouds were nice as well so I decided to setup my gear and photograph the wonderful scene even though I was shooting right into the sun.

The Lewis River, named for Meriwether Lewis, commander of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, is an 18-mile-long tributary of the Snake River.
