Coyote Hunting

Happy New Year! May the new year bringforth joy, health and success! I photographed this coyote hunting in the snow along the Grand Loop Road near Obsidian Creek in Yellowstone National Park last year. We encountered this coyote during one of our day trips with the photography group I was with. The coyote was walking along the road and it stoped to check out something in the snow bank. Nothing ever materialized so whatever was there dug in and stayed quiet.

Coyote Hunting in the Snow

This image was taken with my Canon EOS 7D Mark II using a Canon EF 600mm f/4 IS Mark III that I rented from LensRentals. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f/5.6, shutter speed at 1/1000th of a second and the ISO set at 500. I hand-held the camera for this image. This is a single image processed in Lightroom and completed in Photoshop using Nik Color Efex Pro.
