One of the objectives of my recent trip to Yellowstone National Park was go obtain a photograph of Old Faithful at Night. As you may be aware, I really enjoy night photography, especially when it involves our national parks.
The photography group I was with arrived at the Old Faithful Snow Lodge earlier in the day and, after dinner, a few of us decided to go out to the geyser to photograph it against the night sky. Unfortunately, the skies were not clear, but I think they added a very interesting backdrop to this wonderful, amazing and famous national feature.
Old Faithful is a cone geyser located in Yellowstone National Park. It was named in 1870 during the Washburn-Langford-Doane expedition and it was the first geyser in the park to receive a name.
This image was taken with my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV using my Canon EF 16-35mm f/4 Lens set on 16 mm. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set on f/4, shutter speed on 25 seconds and the ISO set at 5000. I used a tripod for stability. This is a single image processed using Lightroom.

Beautifully done. Did you use light painting on the geyser and is this one image?
Hi Rick. Very slight light painting as there was a lot of ambient light coming from the lodge. One image.
