Fishing Boats in Fulton Harbor

Fishing Boats in Fulton Harbor are a common attraction for photographers. They have been on my list of places to photograph since I began traveling to Rockport, Texas in 2016. They are somewhat difficult to photograph as long exposures are required, and the slightest wind will create movement. I got a bit lucky during my trip to the area and I was able to capture this photo. The location merits repeated returns.

Fulton Harbor was created to be a commercial fishing boat harbor, but it has become more popular as a recreational boat harbor in recent years. Every morning around 6:30 you can see the fishing boats head out to the Gulf of Mexico to fish. The roar of their engines can be heard for miles as they head out for their daily work.

This image was taken with my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV using my Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 Lens set on 50 mm. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f/5.6, shutter speed at 15 seconds and the ISO set at 100. I used a neutral density filter to lengthen the exposure time and I used a tripod for stability  This is a single image processed using Lightroom and completed in Photoshop using Nik Color Efex Pro.
