Family Garden

Another photograph from my trip to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center to photograph the Luminations exhibit. You can read yesterday’s post to find out more about the exhibit. I was walking down this pathway shortly after the sun had set and noticed the pink clouds and decided that this would be a good area to photograph using that backdrop. I did some light painting on the donor sign and the archway to enhance their features. The rest of the lighting was provided by the Luminaries.

The Family Garden area in the Wildflower Center is a special area and one I enjoy visiting. Opened in 2014, the 4.5-acre garden is full of things to do. Children and adults can entertain themselves for hours in the mazes, waterfalls, grassy areas and play areas. If you happen to be in the area please stop by and visit the Wildflower Center and make your way to the Family Garden area.

This image was taken with my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV using my Canon 16-35mm f/4L Lens set on 20 mm. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f/10, shutter speed at 20 seconds and the ISO set at 800. I used a tripod for stability. This is a composite photograph using two images. One for the overall scene and another for the ground-level lights. This was done to allow me to capture the stars while maintaining good exposure on the ground lights. Initial processing was done in Lightroom and completed in Photoshop using Nik Color Efex Pro.
