Juniper Canyon Sunrise

I captured this panorama of the right side of Juniper Canyon at sunrise at the end of Lost Mine trail during a recent trip to Big Bend National park. The morning air was fresh and dry but the downside was no clouds. One day I will be able to get a great photo of this area with some awesome clouds. The problem is that it’s a 2.5-mile hike with an 1,100 foot elevation change with lots of switchbacks. It’s an exhausting but very rewarding hike. The views are certainly spectacular.

This image was taken with my Canon EOS 5DS using my Canon EF 16-35mm f/4 Lens set on 16mm. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f/8, shutter speed at 1/40th of a second and the ISO set at 100. I used a tripod for stability and my Kirk Long Rail to avoid Parallax issues. This is a series of five images brought together in Lightroom and completed in Photoshop using Nik Color Efex Pro.
