Rockport Beach Sunset

I’m preparing for a trip to the Texas Gulf Coast and I was going through my photographs from last year’s trip when I ran across this Rockport beach sunset photograph that I captured at Howard Murph Memorial Park. I plan on returning to the park as it was a great place for sunset photographs.

Rockport is a small city established in 1870 as a cattle slaughtering packing and shipping port. The city is named for the rock ledge that runs along its shore. The area around Rockport is noted as a prime birdwatching center, located on a major North American migratory bird route. I hope to be able to photograph some of the migratory birds while I’m there.

This image was taken with my Sony A7R II using my Sony FE 24-70mm f/4 Lens set on 27 mm. I used a tripod The camera was set on Aperture priority with the aperture set at f/11, shutter speed at 4 seconds and the ISO set at 50. This is a single image processed in Lightroom and finalized in Photoshop using Nik Color Efex Pro.
