Nice Cheetah

Who doesn’t like a nice cheetah? I had the opportunity to pet this cheetah while visiting the Cheetah Rehabilitation Center in the northwestern region of South Africa. The center’s goal is to care for Cheetahs, Serval Cats, African Wildcats and Caracal (Lynx) which have been orphaned or injured in the wild and are in need of care and rehabilitation. The Center offers tours and you can even pet one of the cheetahs (under very close supervision) during the tour. They are quite docile but they do get upset and frustrated very easily. Those of you that own cats probably know what I’m talking about…

This image was taken with my Canon EOS 5DS using my Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 Lens set on 200 mm. The camera was set on Manual mode with the aperture set at f/5.6, shutter speed at 1/320th of a second and the ISO set at 500.  I handheld the camera. This is a single image processed in Lightroom and finalized in Photoshop using Nik Color Efex Pro.
