Little Bee-Eater Couple

I posted a photograph of a Little Bee-Eater a couple of days ago. I thought I would post a photograph of a Little Bee-Eater couple that was on the same branch a couple of minutes before the photograph I posted the other day. The male (left) had caught a moth and brought it to his mate. She never accepted the food and flew off. Perhaps they were having “issues” and he was trying to make up. I saw him bash the moth against the branch right before he offered it to her. You can see some of the debris in the air on the bottom right of the frame. The Little Bee-Eaters are very colorful birds. My favorite bird during my trip to South Africa (next to the Penguins, of course)…

This image was taken with my Canon EOS 5DS using my Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L II Lens set on 400mm. The camera was set on Aperture Priority mode with the aperture set at f/8, shutter speed at 1/320th of a second and the ISO set at 640. This was a single image processed in Lightroom and completed in Photoshop using Nik Color Efex Pro.
